Pledge Manager Out!
11 months ago – Mon, Apr 07, 2025 at 03:22:50 AM

Hi everyone,

Quick update. We sent out surveys and the pledge manager this morning.

In case you missed it Friday, here is the info on how to claim your PTTR core book digital cover.

However, I did (in my infinite wisdom (and excitement to have the game release)) forgot to add the link to that update! How fun!

The PDFs of the Adventure Envelopes and the Mourning After are forthcoming, as we're still working hard on these. Nana has been kicking out some amazing art for them, and Johan has finalised the GM screen.

Thanks and speak soon,

Zach

Digital Release
11 months ago – Fri, Apr 04, 2025 at 05:11:49 AM

Hi everyone,

It's time to Paint The Town Red!

Today we're celebrating the digital release of PTTR. To check out, go to this webpage, add the PDF to your cart and use the code FANGSFORTHEMEMORIES to reduce your payment to zero.

The ability to use this discount code is keyed to the email address you used during the Backerkit project. If you try using a different email address, your discount code will not work.

Once you check out, there will be a link to the download in your confirmation email, as well as codes to download on DriveThru and Itch.io.

Any issues with checking out, please email [email protected] and we'll do what we can to sort you out.

If you play and enjoy the game, please sign up to our mailing list using the website (there's free goodies!), and also join our friendly Discord server

Thanks,

Zach

February Update
about 1 year ago – Wed, Feb 05, 2025 at 05:21:29 AM

Hi everyone,

A very light update! We're still making games. for you!

We're hoping to get a pledge manager to you soon, but right now we're focusing our logistical efforts on the ongoing fulfilment of the Gardens of Ynn and Orbital Blues Afterburn.

For some sneak previews, here's an unseen before art piece! This poor rotter must have had a rough night!

I also thought I'd share 10 undead from our big table of NPCs / character prompts. Evie did a great job on these! They're from the 'Classical and Post-Classical' section of the table, roughly covering -1000 BC to 1000 AD.

  1. You were Mahkah. You were shot through with arrows by your enemies when they raided your camp at dawn. You never had a chance to open your eyes, and you have refused to sleep since.

  2. You were Cora, who was consort and companion to Alexander himself. You mourned at his deathbed in the palace of Nebuchadnezzar II, and sealed yourself in a tomb of your own in tribute. It did not last.

  3. You were Vidhi, a general who served King Ashoka in his conquests, bloody and terrible. But your king forswore violence and you could not forgive him, deserting his service. You perished on a bandit’s blade decades later, but it did not slow you down.

  4. You were Blasius Domitius. You guarded Hadrian’s wall in service of your emperor, and were slain by a rock from a shepherd’s sling. Your shame kept you walking.

  5. You were Cenebeth, the sailor. You took sail across the Mediterranean from port to port, but one day decided to try to find new lands through the pass and out into the wild Atlantic by Africa. You were lost to the depths, but crawled back to land decades later.

  6. You were Xin Yan. You made the best bronze in all of the empire. You saw the future in the embers of the forge, and embers burn within you too.

  7. You were Nicomedes Asina and cut crystal in Constantinople. Your works were beloved but you grew jealous of a rival and in a drunken rage slew him. You were executed, but it didn’t keep you down for long.

  8. You were Pilate Vestanis and you rode with a king in Britannia after the empire in Rome fell. The tales they told of him were mere myths, but you knew the real man. You never gave up on his dream of uniting the Britons, and you revile the Saxon invaders who slew you.

  9. You were Penelope. You washed the dead for burial in Anactorium, continuing to do so even after you own, until Augustus had your town torn down and your people moved. Since then you have wandered.

  10. You were Bulan and lived once on the island of Sumatra. You mended nets and fished, but when your lover was tossed overboard in a storm you threw yourself into the waters to follow them. You washed ashore, but they did not.

We're hard at work, and we'll see you soon!

Thanks

Zach

New Year, New Update
about 1 year ago – Thu, Jan 02, 2025 at 07:30:20 AM

Hi everyone,

Not much to say at the moment. We've been hard at work on PDF production, finalising art assets and powering ahead with editing and layout tasks.

We'll be sorting out a pledge manager in the next few weeks, as we're currently neck deep in fulfilment for Orbital Blues: Afterburn and Gardens of Ynn.

Here's some incredible new art pieces. First up is the suitably Gothic cover for the Aachen adventure by Anastasiia Ivanova:

And another pieces by Nabi H. Ali for our Ghazni adventure:

Finally, here's some very undead knights from Katabay:

Just so you know, we may be light on updates while we're just churning away in the background. You'll be sure to hear from us when we have something to share!

Thanks

Zach

Woah! We hit it!
over 1 year ago – Fri, Nov 08, 2024 at 07:00:30 AM

Thank you so very very much! We hit the solo game goal and will be adding it as a physical add-on to the Backerkit pledge manager when that goes live soon.

It's been a hell of a month for everyone, so I appreciate you sticking with us on this project and pledging your support to our weird little game.

I'm going to look into doing the marbled covers as an add-on/upgrade to the mainbook that you can pledge for during the pledge manager if it peaks your fancy. Upgrading it for everyone is going to be very expensive so simply isn't plausible at current funding levels, but we can make a few lovely books.

Thank you for reading, and I hope you will soon enjoy this thing we made together!

Yours,

Zach/Jelly

PS: If you want to support another queer RPG, I would encourage you to head on over to Confluence: The Living Archive. Our friends at Publishing Goblin make some tremendous art, and this is another project that needs just a touch more support to get it over the finish line. It's a genre-blending TTRPG of fantasy, sci-fi and horror built with love and attention by a diverse team. Give them support and tell 'em SoulMuppet sent you.
